BLURRY BOTANICALS

I remember looking out to my garden one day and seeing my nectarine tree in flower. I took some photos of it, recalling my works from the Kyoto series. I found myself drawn again to the blur and soft transition between shapes.

Initially I painted entirely blurred images of larger than life flower and garden scenes. Now I've returned to a style of blurry backgrounds and sharply focused areas. I’m always drawn to brighter colours but I also occasionally use a softer, whiter palette.
